How Lucky Are You..
Are you tired with your daily life? Or, do you hate your job right now and wishing to have another job?
Last week, I have gone at Greenhills San Juan to have my friends’ laptop fixed. Its LCD was broken due to a nonsense thing (according to her ).
As I travelled with a bus, a young man somewhere in Makati rode through it and eventually speaks on top of his voice asking for something. He said he is a “pedicab” driver (the person who drives a bicycle with sidecar to serve as public utility vehicle). He wanted to ask for help because his brother was stabbed to death by unidentified bystanders. He proves it through a photocopy of his brothers’ death certificate and an article from the newspaper. He says he really needs help for the burial because he really cannot afford to pay for all the expenses. He has left no other choice but to ask for help to strangers since he is the only person in his family they are looking for. My heart was crushing though at the back of my mind, I was thinking if, it was really true? Pity for him but behind that doubt, still I gave some coins for him (what if it was true?…and if it’s not I know the Good Lord knows how to manage him.)
That time passed and eventually I arrived at my destination. It’s already lunch time so I ate my lunch a bunch since I wanted to reward myself from the honoraria that I’ve received through my lectures (I think I deserve such reward )… Afterwards, I proceeded to the shop and looked for my purpose. Fortunately, I didn’t take a hard time looking for it (hurrah! I could go home early ).
At last, it was finished and it was time to go home. Here I am again, need to ride a bus. As I was sitting and waiting to arrive at my final destination I noticed that the bus collector is doing something. After collecting all fares of the passengers, he got a pen and a paper. I thought he was just about to list some numbers for their trip, to do some reports. I am about to ignore what he’s been doing but I saw him sketching something. He sketched a man that seems to be shouting. Nevertheless, whatever would be he wanted to draw, I saw something in him. After a tiring collection, he still managed to relieve his stress through his sketches.
What was all about this two men? They have their own fates to struggle but you can see in them that they both have their perseverance to live their lives…to fight for it…
Now, see how hard their work is. Though we all know that every individual is liable for their own fate, still, it comes to us in different ways. Some may did not make it to the fullest, but still, they have strived something for it. We may not notice how unsatisfied we are on our present job while others were taking a hard time just to finish their daily task and earn for a living.
Looking at our own self now…ask your selves…How am I doing right now? Am I satisfied for what I have or still looking for something? There is no problem on finding another thing to make you happy as long as you have looked into your present.
Check now, how lucky are you?
